AIR CONDITIONER INVERTOR AND FREQUENCY CONTROL THROUGH CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM

Advisor:

Dr. Tahir Izhar

Abstract:

This projects deals with the control of the speed of the compressor of air conditioner by controlling the speed of the induction motor on the basis of the temperature input. The energy consumption is optimized by improvement dynamic response of induction motor and we can be obtained desired torque speed curve. The method called V/f is one of famous method which enables to run motor at its rated torque and vary its speed simultaneously. The increment in frequency causes increment in applied voltage to keep v/f constant otherwise it will saturate core of induction motor. Space vector modulation technique assisted us in order to control the motor since we can change the frequency of the output by changing the frequency using SVPWM. The temperature sensor senses the temperature of environment and air conditioner compressor moves to its full speed to attain the set temperature and after attaining the set temperature it moves at slow speed and this overall process leads to less consumption of energy as compared to the conventional air conditioner, leading to more efficient and reliable system.
